Pobic for Women

“Pobic for Women” It is an international cooperation project developed by Pobic and aimed exclusively at women.

The Project Objectives I am

Promotion of women's health at every stage of their lives;
protection of the life of the unborn child; reduction of maternal and child mortality; health and nutrition education during pregnancy and for newborns;
Cervical cancer prevention;
Training of midwifery staff.

After some previous experiences gained in Uganda, Ivory Coast, and Morocco, in the latter country we succeeded in launching a more defined project. Specifically in the South of Morocco, this splendid Maghreb country where significant economic development is underway, and where, to date, full women's rights have yet to be recognized, despite considerable progress having been made.

The project is aimed at Berber women living in villages bordering the Sahara Desert.

The project is aimed at Berber women living in villages bordering the Sahara Desert.

In 2018, at the invitation of the President of the Province of Zagora and the Delegation of the Ministry of Health of Zagora, managers of the Zagora Hospital and rural clinics located in the villages of the region, a Pobic delegation, led by Doctor Donatella Albini, Gynecologist, and by the President of the College of Midwives of Brescia, Dr. Antonella Novaglio, traveled to the indicated area to concretely launch the project.

As soon as the pandemic allows, our team will return to the women of the Berber villages to continue the prevention and treatment activities, which are meeting with considerable interest.

In two years, significant results have been achieved.

project sharing with two public entities, the Province of Zagora and the local Delegation of the Ministry of Health;
60 hours of work and training, guided by our team;
over 200 women visited, of which a quarter received treatment and examinations;
Theoretical and practical training for 10 new midwives, aimed at out-of-hospital care and assistance, combining medical and health information with a wise and vigilant perspective that brings together intuitive, scientific, and clinical knowledge.;
Issuance of the certificate of participation in the training course (2018/2019)
extension of international relations, as evidenced by the requests to re-propose this project received from the Governor of Zagora, Fouad Hajji, and the President of the Province, Abderrahim Chid.
