Mission for Life: How the Hearts of African Children Beat Again

This problem, which affects thousands of children every year, seems almost impossible to solve. However, we at POBIC are not discouraged in the face of such great challenges. We are constantly committed to ensuring medical care for African children suffering from heart disease.

We are engaged in Africa to ensure that children suffering from heart disease receive the medical care they need. We operate in numerous African countries and are committed not only to providing medical interventions, but also to training local medical staff to ensure the sustainability of our projects. Our action takes place in a context where medical resources are limited and specialized skills are often entirely lacking.

The challenge we face is enormous. In sub-Saharan Africa, heart disease is one of the leading causes of death among children. According to the World Health Organization, more than 300,000 African children are born every year with congenital heart disease, and only a small percentage of them manage to access the care they need. Our intervention, therefore, is crucial to saving the lives of these children and securing their future.

Stories of change and hope

  • The case of Keita: Keita is a 10-year-old boy living in Mali. Due to a heart condition, Keita has always had health problems and difficulty with daily activities. Thanks to our intervention, Keita was able to receive the medical care he needed and today he can live a normal life.
  • Our action in Burkina Faso: In Burkina Faso, we have implemented a training program for local medical staff. Thanks to this project, Burkinabe doctors can now diagnose and treat children's heart disease, guaranteeing them a better future.
  • The project in Senegal: In Senegal, we have implemented a heart disease prevention program, which includes health education for mothers and vaccination against diseases that can cause heart problems. Thanks to this project, many Senegalese children can now grow up healthy and strong.

Solidarity and collective commitment

Unity is strength

We could not accomplish our mission without the support of many people and partner organizations. Every donation, regardless of the amount, helps save the life of an African child.

Training as a weapon for change

One of the most important aspects of our work is the training of local medical staff. This not only helps save human lives in the short term, but also ensures the sustainability of medical care in the long term.

The power of prevention

We are committed not only to treating, but also to preventing heart disease in African children. This translates into educational and vaccination programs that help prevent the onset of these diseases.

The importance of listening

We place great emphasis on listening to local communities and understanding their needs. This approach, based on respect and mutual understanding, is essential to the success of our missions.

What does our concrete commitment in the "field" translate into.

African children are the focus of our work. Our medical missions include the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of children suffering from heart disease. These missions represent hope for thousands of families who otherwise would not have access to the medical care they need. However, our work is not limited to medical care alone.

In fact, the latter is supported by an important psychological support program for the families of sick children. Furthermore, we carry out important prevention work through vaccination and health education programs. Our work is carried out with great humanity and respect for local cultures and traditions. This approach makes it possible to build a relationship of trust with local communities and work together to improve children's health.

Finally, it is important to emphasize that our work is made possible thanks to the commitment of many volunteers and donors. Without them, it would not be possible to achieve all of this.

Conclusions

In conclusion, our work represents a beacon of hope for thousands of African children suffering from heart disease. Despite the enormous challenges, we continue to commit ourselves daily to ensuring these children receive the medical care they need and to training local medical staff, thus guaranteeing a better future for Africa.

Support our important work. Together, we can make a difference.
