Jernita is now healed. However, the biggest challenge begins right now.

Jernita cannot breathe.

His heart is failing and he has only 9 months to live.

We met her in Uganda and her situation was immediately clear.
There is very little life left in Juanita.

We cannot allow his life to end so soon.

Help us give him a second chance
It's a matter of life and death.

Listen to Jernita's mother's appeal

Let's give them a future

An operation saved Jernita's life.

The biggest challenge, however, starts now.

After healing her heart, we must find the strength to give her a future.

In this you can be of great help. Find out how by clicking the link below.

Jernita's clinical conditions are tragic

Jernita Apio (date of birth: 05/28/2023) is a 9-month-old infant examined at the Uganda Heart Institute Clinic.

He cannot breathe and sweats continually from the effort.

His heart is not able to handle the strain.

An evaluation revealed a complex congenital heart disease: truncus arteriosus type I with mild truncal valve regurgitation.

Jernita is dying and we must save her.

Jernita Apio is recommended for referral abroad for the surgical correction of congenital Herra Herna complex.

The situation is truly a matter of life and death.

Help us save her.

Below we tell you who will take care of the intervention.

Jernita has undergone surgery. The procedure is only the first step, though.

Jernita has undergone surgery. The operation is a success.

His struggle against life started from Uganda.

We were not certain he would survive the journey. So critical was the situation. Yet his little heart made it all the way to the day of the operation, which Dr. Michielon and his team performed with dedication and care.

The little girl's life is now saved.

We must, however, guarantee her a future.
Do not stop now, help her and donate. Just 5 euros are enough.

Our partnership with the Gaslini Institute in Genoa

Ariella will arrive in Italy on June 3 and will be taken to the Gaslini Institute in Genoa.

The institute has been collaborating with the Open Heart project for many years and has helped us save dozens upon dozens of children. Over the years, more than 60 have escaped death thanks to this program, and the Giannina Gaslini Institute in Genoa is on the front line with us to not let these young lives die.

Here is the official website of the institution.

Every euro donated will go directly to the operational needs by Ariella. Our NGO operates with the utmost financial transparency, ensuring that every contribution has a direct impact on their lives.

Who selects the beneficiaries of the operations?

The beneficiaries, in this case Jernita Ariella and Mary, are selected based on medical and necessity criteria. We have been collaborating for years with the doctors of Gaslini to ensure that resources go to those who need them most urgently. And by urgent we mean life-threatening.

We have a long success story in providing life-saving care to children in similar situations. The positive stories of the children we have helped are the tangible proof of our commitment. Take a look at our History of Nigeria

What happens if you don't reach the fundraising goal?

Even if we don't reach the full goal, every donation It brings us closer to our goal. Every euro counts and will contribute to ensure a better future for Ariella.

Can I make a donation even if I am not able to donate much?

Absolutely yes! Every donation, regardless of the amount, has an impact. Even small contributions can make a difference. Many small contributions, dear friend, make a huge, immense result.

Discover who we are

The Non-Governmental Organization POBIC was founded on September 28, 1992 as AnPobic, an acronym for Associazione Nazionale Promozione Opere Benefiche a favore degli Invalidi Civili (National Association for the Promotion of Charitable Works in Favor of the Civilly Disabled). The founders are Piras, Triesto, and Finetti, from Brescia. In its early years, it dealt with the issues of the civilly disabled in northern Italy. Paolo Federico Novellini became president on April 1, 1996, succeeding Giuseppe Lucchesi.

The first international commitment came in 1999 in Kosovo with the delivery of clothing and food supplies, and the first modification of the bylaws took place, opening the association's activities abroad as well. The year 2001, on the other hand, was marked by exploratory commitments in Ukraine, Morocco, and the Ivory Coast.
