Simon prepares for heart surgery at Gaslini Hospital. Mugisa Simon Jireh, born on March 17, 2022, in Uganda, was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart disease. The family, who was in desperate need of help due to their financial inability to pay for the surgery, contacted POBIC through volunteer John Bosco Sunday, and John Bosco contacted our office in Italy. Pobic Italy, after evaluating little Simon’s illness together with the medical team, admitted him to the Open Heart Pobic Uganda project. This project involves transferring the child to Italy, accompanied by the mother and a volunteer, to undergo the necessary treatment, completely free of charge for the child and the family. On January 26, 2023, baby Simon, his mother, and one of our volunteers (Sunday John Bosco) arrived in Italy for Simon's treatment at Gaslini Hospital, Genoa.
