Il presidente Paolo Novellini e Festus Adedayo si sono recati nella capitale Accra per una serie di incontri istituzionali strategici, gettando le basi per una nuova collaborazione nell\u2019ambito della prevenzione delle malattie reumatiche cardiache.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>La missione ha visto Pobic confrontarsi direttamente con i rappresentanti del Ministero della Salute del Ghana e con il team medico del National Cardiothoracic Centre, il principale ospedale cardiologico del paese. Un incontro particolarmente significativo \u00e8 stato quello con il direttore della cardiochirurgia, il Dr. (Med) Kow Entsua-Mensah, figura di riferimento nella sanit\u00e0 ghanese.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cc46816 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"cc46816\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Soccorso umanitario: una risposta concreta alle esigenze locali\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6fbb4993 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6fbb4993\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"\" data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"571\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">Durante le giornate di lavoro, si \u00e8 parlato a lungo della situazione della cardiochirurgia nel paese, ma soprattutto della necessit\u00e0 di costruire un&#8217;azione condivisa per fronteggiare un problema spesso sottovalutato: la <strong data-start=\"220\" data-end=\"251\">malattia reumatica cardiaca<\/strong>, che in Ghana colpisce in modo particolare i bambini tra i <strong data-start=\"311\" data-end=\"328\">3 e i 14 anni<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"571\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"573\" data-end=\"654\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\">La richiesta principale rivolta a Pobic \u00e8 stata chiara: aiutare a elaborare un <strong data-start=\"79\" data-end=\"106\">protocollo di screening<\/strong> per misurare la prevalenza della malattia reumatica cardiaca nella popolazione pediatrica. Un passo fondamentale non solo per comprendere l\u2019impatto reale della patologia a livello nazionale, ma anche per permettere al Ghana di <strong data-start=\"334\" data-end=\"366\">condividere dati e strategie<\/strong> con gli altri paesi del continente africano, in un\u2019ottica di cooperazione sanitaria pi\u00f9 ampia.<\/span><\/p><h2 class=\"\" data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"722\">\u00a0<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a95e467 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"a95e467\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Malattie reumatiche in Africa: un problema diffuso e trascurato\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d196d91 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d196d91\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La raccolta di questi dati, infatti, avr\u00e0 un doppio valore: da un lato, fornir\u00e0 alle autorit\u00e0 ghanesi uno strumento concreto per pianificare interventi di prevenzione e trattamento; dall\u2019altro, consentir\u00e0 al Ghana di inserirsi pienamente nelle iniziative internazionali volte a debellare la febbre reumatica nell\u2019Africa subsahariana.<\/p><p>La missione di marzo rappresenta dunque solo il primo passo.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Ma \u00e8 gi\u00e0 chiaro che il soccorso umanitario che Pobic porter\u00e0 avanti in Ghana non si limiter\u00e0 a interventi occasionali: si muover\u00e0 su basi scientifiche solide, con l\u2019obiettivo di costruire progetti di prevenzione, diagnosi precoce e sostegno a lungo President Paolo Novellini and Festus Adedayo traveled to the capital, Accra, for a series of strategic institutional meetings, laying the groundwork for a new collaboration in the field of rheumatic heart disease prevention. During the mission, Pobic engaged directly with representatives of Ghana\u2019s Ministry of Health and with the medical team at the National Cardiothoracic Center, the country\u2019s leading cardiac hospital. A particularly significant meeting was held with the director of cardiac surgery, Dr. (Med) Kow Entsua-Mensah, a leading figure in Ghana\u2019s healthcare system. Humanitarian Aid: A Concrete Response to Local Needs During the working sessions, there was extensive discussion of the state of cardiac surgery in the country, but above all of the need to develop a joint strategy to address an often-underestimated problem: rheumatic heart disease, which in Ghana particularly affects children between the ages of 3 and 14. The main request made to Pobic was clear: to help develop a screening protocol to measure the prevalence of rheumatic heart disease in the pediatric population. This is a crucial step not only toward understanding the disease\u2019s actual impact at the national level but also toward enabling Ghana to share data and strategies with other countries on the African continent, with a view toward broader health cooperation. Rheumatic Diseases in Africa: A Widespread and Neglected Problem The collection of this data will, in fact, serve a dual purpose: on the one hand, it will provide Ghanaian authorities with a concrete tool for planning prevention and treatment interventions; on the other, it will enable Ghana to fully participate in international initiatives aimed at eradicating rheumatic fever in sub-Saharan Africa. The March mission is therefore only the first step. But it is already clear that the humanitarian aid Pobic will provide in Ghana will not be limited to occasional interventions: it will be based on solid scientific foundations, with the goal of developing projects for prevention, early diagnosis, and long-term support.
